Last Tuesday,I went to little india. There were many temples and shops there. There were shops selling pots, peacock feather and furnitures. Our guide,Ms Ching, take us round little india.About 10.30,we went to the food court to eat for half an hour. After that,we queue up outside and we continued our journey.Next,we went to buy some things such as peacock feathers. Some of my classmates painted Henna on their hand. Finally, it was time to go back to school so we ride on the bus and we reached school.
During Tuesday(4th November 2008),
the class went to Little India with our tour guide Ms Ching. When we reached Little India,we went to the temple. We were told to take off our shoes. There were lots of prayers in the temple.I learnt that we cannot use our index finger to point but we can point with our thumb. The people who worship at Sri Veerama Kaliamman is hindu. On the way to the food court,we saw a garland shop.Indians buy flower garlands because they offer to the gods in the temple,to decorate statues and to give to the bride and groom during wedding ceremonies.Betel nut is use to colour batik. Many indian woman wear a red or black dot on their foreheads. It is called bindi(puttu).Thairu is a home-made yogurt ,very popular in indian cooking. In indian restaurant, meals are served on stainless steel plastic plates or in banana leaves.Around 10.30am,we went to the food court to have our recess. Then,we made our way to the Little India Arcade.Actually,I thought inside the arcade was games but when Ms Ching told us that the arcade was not a game arcade but a mini shopping centre. Most of the pupils bought the peacock feathers. One peacock feathers was fifty cents.Three peacock feathers was one dollar. There was also some pupils did some henna on their hands. Finally,it is time to go back to school. We took the bus and headed back to school.I enjoyed myself tremendously in Little India!
